Hello Everyone :)
I know I haven't made a post in a while but I guess I just haven't been motivated,
emotionally I've been sort of all over the place.
But, I want to continue this blog,
It makes me happy to write, even if not many people read it.
Its kinda therapeutic.
Anyways,
Its time for an overdue Friend of the Week.
I've known this friend since Summer 2014,
(I don't know why I capitalized Summer but it felt right)
We have stayed in touch all throughout the school year, even if we didn't get to hang out much.
She is one of my closest friends,
A hard worker, good listener, a dope spoken word artist
(For real, you have to hear her, she's amazing).
Here's Stevie!!!
(All this info she gave me word for word)
Name: Stevelyn Desire
(But call me Stevie)
Pronouns: she, her, hers
School: John D. O'Bryant School of Mathematics and Science
Likes: compassion, empathy, openness, communication, poetry, music, food, movies, clothes, confidence, Netflix, competition, healthy relationships, my friends are my world, love
Dislikes: People who don't respect other's boundaries, homophobia, rain, hypocrites, discrimination, violence.
About me: Hey gorgeous people, I'm Stevie! My orientation is a little complicated but I guess it can be described as being a lesbian/multisexual and bi-romantic, I hope that makes sense! a little background to this is that it took me FOREVER to actually come to terms with who I am. There was a time when I would cry everyday because I didn't understand myself and my feelings. I would ask God why I couldn't just be normal. Coming from a christian family I believed that this was wrong. But in my struggle to figure myself out I found True Colors out Youth Theater, which not only helped me feel confident in who I am but taught me that its okay to be me and there is no such thing as being normal. And an added bonus is that I found my family, they are seriously the most amazing people I have ever met! If anything i would pass along the same message True Colors has taught me, To accept and love yourself and others. By the way, I'm 17 years old (18 in September!!!) Poetry is a huge part of my life, and so are my friends, they inspire me and I really don't know what I would do without them. I believe that confidence is key in getting anywhere in life, if you love yourself others will follow suit. I'm a really boring person so I don't know what to write. Um, my favorite color is purple. Shoes and clothes are life, oh natural beauty is hot, I'm a math geek and super competitive, feminist, activist, food and music lover!!!. I've been told I'm sarcastic (whatever that means...) I think I'm a nice person. I try to be the light in anyone's darkness. We need to be kind to one another in such a messed up world. I try to have an open mind at all times and I wish the same for society. That's me in a snapshot so, stay beautiful guys!!
